Our Story

Amy & Wayne

Amy Mackiewicz dreamt of owning a restaurant since she was a kid! She has over 25 years of experience in the restaurant business and has always focused on quality over quantity. She holds a degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management from Purdue University and Culinary Arts Degree from Western Culinary Cordon Blue. Before starting the restaurant, Amy worked as a pastry chef for Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Oregon, and ran Ivy's Catering for about a decade. The Eastern European influence in the menu comes from Amy’s Polish heritage. Polish favorites on the menu use her family recipes, including the Polish sausage recipe handed down for generations.

Wayne Sydni has been a vegetarian for three decades, and his influence is reflected in the wide range of vegetarian choices on the menu. Wayne’s specialties include cajun food, house made black bean burgers, and (amazing) falafel. He also curates the wine and spirits, and specializes in old-school cocktails. He takes great care in researching and perfecting every cocktail offered at Ivy’s, going to the root of the original recipe and making sure it’s the best of the best. Wayne is also an accomplished muralist, and creates the hand-lettered, hand-drawn menus.

A Unique Place

We opened Ivy’s Bohemia House in 2015 with the goal of creating a welcoming environment where guests would come to relax and enjoy fresh, scratch-made comfort food. All meats are roasted in-house and desserts are made from scratch on site.

We’ve been honored to receive two R.O.S.E Awards: 2019 Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year and 2015 Best Newcomer. Thanks to all our customers for making this happen for us!
